When you uninstall a ScreenTip language pack in Programs and Features, the language is still selectable in Office settings. This can clutter the list if you install a few different packs. These instructions apply to 64-bit Windows versions running 32-bit Office, but the process should be similar for different configurations. Here’s how to remove it from the list:
- Open regedit as an administrator.
- Navigate to
- The keys here are a list of language code numbers. 1033 is US English. Set their values to 0 if you don’t want them in the ScreenTip options list any more. You can find the other codes here.
I can’t find where the files for the ScreenTip packs are stored in order to actually delete them, but this procedure will help clean up the list.
