When you uninstall a ScreenTip language pack in Programs and Features, the language is still selectable in Office settings. This can clutter the list if you install a few different packs. These instructions apply to 64-bit Windows versions running 32-bit Office, but the process should be similar for different configurations. Here’s how to remove it from the list:

  1. Open regedit as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to
  3. The keys here are a list of language code numbers. 1033 is US English. Set their values to 0 if you don’t want them in the ScreenTip options list any more. You can find the other codes here.

I can’t find where the files for the ScreenTip packs are stored in order to actually delete them, but this procedure will help clean up the list.

Three navigation bars. They are all anchored to the top of the page and scroll with you. You can’t get rid of the top one without signing in. I guess the top one isn’t technically a navigation bar but I don’t know what else to call it. A “persistent nag bar”?
