Wow I bet they’re really lightweight then. Bit of an old-school aesthetic though ;P

I rather like Office as far as its design and speed, I just don’t particularly like how they’re presenting Starter.

I bet you’re right. I can’t believe I didn’t make that connection heh. Thanks for the tip.

Though if I remember right I tested the start-up time with the default SoundFont. I don’t know how big it is, but being that the whole download is 22 MB it can’t be terribly large.

I tried particularly hard to find a good piano sound but I wasn’t too successful.

Are using a large SoundFont? MuseScore will start _much_ faster if you use a small SoundFont. TimGM6mb.sf2 is a nice small one.

I personally tend to favour SSuite Office’s free office suites. Their software also don’t need to run on Java or .NET, like so many open source office suites, so it makes their software very small and efficient.
