I’m sure more than one of us has messed something up on a piece of paper and tried to press Ctrl+Z to undo it. I have, plenty of times. But my dependence on computers has led me into other interesting events that make me wonder if I’m living on the border of two realities.
I’m bringing this topic up mainly because of one really weird slip I had the other day. I was sitting with my eyes closed, kind of zoned out with my mind wandering. I had this image of a YouTube video and player in my head. I didn’t like the video so I tried to switch it. How? By rubbing my temples.
Yep, I was watching an online video in my head and tried to change it by flicking my hands on my temples. (I was trying to use those arrows that pop up after a video is over)
Less severely, I type while falling asleep all the time. I find it’s the only relaxing way for me to fall asleep anymore. I’m pretty sure I’ve also caught myself sleep-typing and using a “touchpad” on my bedspread.
One thing I haven’t had to deal with is the phenomenon of phantom vibrations. I don’t own a cell phone or any type of handheld communication..thing, so I don’t have a dependence on them yet.
Just a consequence of an integrated world, I suppose. Or, one of a computer addiction.
Oh, and, 100th post!! Go me, go me
